Sports Facilities

The University’s sports facilities serve as the training grounds for the UP Fighting Maroons and as ā€˜classroomsā€™ for Physical Education classes. These are spaces for honing athletic skills as well as building a sense of camaraderie between teammates, league members and spectators within and outside the UP community.

Rappelling Tower

UP Department of Military Science and Tactics (DMST)


The Rappelling Tower of the UP Department of Military Science and Tactics is a facility used in the training of the cadets, specifically of the Rescue Unit. The tower can hold from 10 to 15 people rappelling simultaneously. It is open to outsiders, provided they should have a certified trainer.

Cristy Hernandez Activity Center

UP College of Engineering


The Cristy Hernandez Activity Center (CHAC) is a covered basketball court behind Melchor Hall, donated by the Tau Alpha Fraternity and named after a distinguished alumna. The court has a standard size and bleachers. Beyond sports events, the CHAC may also be a venue for extra-curricular activities and college-related events, such as a year-end Thanksgiving party.

Epsilon Chi Center Basketball Court

Epsilon Chi Center


The Epsilon Chi Center is an airconditioned 1,200 square meter sports facility with a FIBA standard basketball court that may also be used for volleyball and badminton training and competitions. It can accommodate 300 people for events. The center also has restaurants, shared office spaces, conference and function rooms, and a parking space. The center was a gift to the university from the Epsilon Chi Fraternity.

UP Baseball Field

UP College of Human Kinetics (CHK)


The UP Baseball Field is a 21,750-square-meter grass field for softball, shot-put, discus, and javelin throw competitions and training. The Baseball field also has 800-seat bleachers, a bullpen area, locker rooms, a bathroom and shower, fencing, and night-time lighting.

UP CHK Gym

UP College of Human Kinetics (CHK)


The UP College of Human Kinetics Gym houses two basketball courts, four volleyball courts, nine badminton courts, two dance areas, a martial arts room, a weight-training area, a fencing area, and a table tennis area. It also has bathrooms with locker and shower areas. Outside the gym are two volleyball courts.

UP CHK New Gym

The CHK New Gym is a covered standard basketball court beside the CHK Gym. Outside the New CHK Gym is an airconditioned weights room for the use of the athletes of the university.

UP Tennis Court and Clubhouse

UP College of Human Kinetics (CHK)


The UP Tennis Court and Clubhouse, located behind the UP Track and Field Oval, is one of the newest facilities of the College of Human Kinetics for its UP Diliman Sports Complex. It consists of four tennis courts equipped with night lights and a clubhouse with lockers, storage rooms, bathrooms, and a classroom for 50 people. The court, measuring 10,865 square meters, complies with the International Tennis Federation standards.

UP Track and Field Oval / UP Football Field

The UP Diliman Football Field includes a track and field oval and a grandstand. The grandstand is a place where the public may watch the ongoing games or training and a facility that contains locker rooms.

UP Diliman Swimming Pool and Stadium

The UP Diliman Swimming Pool and Stadium is currently under construction. It is located along Emilio Jacinto Road, near the College of Human Kinetics Gymnasium and beside the Department of Military Science and Tactics Complex.

UP Archery Range

UP Varsity Training Center

Inaugurated on January 25, 2023, the UP Varsity Training Center (UP VTC) is a 1,879.42 square meter center with conference rooms, weight training and conditioning areas, and a multi-purpose court. One can find the VTC within the College of Human Kinetics grounds.

UP Maroons Community Court

University Hotel


The UP Maroons Community Court of the University Hotel is a standard basketball court that may also be used as a tennis court. It is equipped with benches, lights, and access to communal bathrooms. Pop TV and Nowhere to Go But UP Foundation, Inc. sponsored the renovation of the court. It is open to all and is usually used by the nearby communities.

UPIS Gymnasium

UP Integrated School (UPIS)


The UPIS Gymnasium is a covered court with rubber flooring, a weights area, an electronic scoreboard, and bleachers. Besides being a gym, it is also a venue for events, such as a family day and graduation, as it can accommodate 600-700 people depending on the set-up. Several people pitched in for the gym’s construction, such as Hon. Francis Escudero, Hon. Feliciano Belmonte, Sr., the UPIS-PTA 2015-2016, and the UP High Class 1962.

Launched in August 2023, the UP Diliman (UPD) Cultural Facilities Online Directory is an initiative of UPD-OICA intended to reactivate artistic and cultural life on campus as its constituents return from online learning. It aims to give the students, faculty, and other members of the UP community easier access to information on facilities as well as meaningful spaces on campus that they can utilize for special events and projects. In the process, these sites become spaces for productive and collaborative exchanges, allowing the University community to develop and sustain local and international linkages in the interest of enriching humanistic knowledge and practice.

The documented spaces include Museums, Galleries, & Collections; Auditoriums, Cinemas, & Theaters; Multi-purpose Spaces; and Sports Facilities.
